frosty
Good afternoon, I’m trying to build a custom “piggy bank” for my son with a mdb bill validator. What I want to know is. If I wire the validator to a 24v power supply, how do I get it to accept bills without a VMC board? Additionally- how do I reprogram an MEI validator to take the new $100 bill? Vendo Mike
Without an VMC with coin mech to enable, you'll need to use a DBV with an "always enabled" switch/setting. Mar's AE line was built for amusements/entertainment and has this option. In order to accept a large bill, you'll need the AE28xx series which accepts 1-100 notes. This will give you a Pulse count / dollar that you can use to run a counter to show his efforts if you intend to take that next step. Updating for new notes requires a program update which would include replacing an eprom chip and sometimes the upper/lower sensor boards for the DBV in some cases. It's a cool idea but might cost a few bucks to get to a working unit. I'd be interested in a picture once you're done if you don't mind sharing. orsd
There’s a jumper harness for Mars 110v VN series validators to make them always enabled.
Vendo Mike
Is there a VN that accepts a $100 note?
