But that machine in particular looks similar to a seaga, which means that its one big compartment with removable dividers, meaning that unless you can hit the nail on the head with a new location and pick three great sellers, it will be very difficult to change just one product that undersells. Stick to like new Vendstars for no more than 75 shipped or 1800 vending for no more than 100 shipped. They have removable interchangeable canisters that make learning a location less painful. white32 Posted July 9, 2016 Author Share Posted July 9, 2016 The idea of the triple is if we put it in a restaurant, we can have one set of mint/gum, one set of tart candy, and one set of chocolate candy. And good point about the removable compartments, although I currently have northwesterns (bought used) that are designed the same way as the one pictured and haven't had an issue with them. I haven't found too many triples (even used) for lower than $130, and even the singles are in the $80+ range, so probably better to get the variety. I'm just wondering whether or not this specific machine is known to be high or low quality. Zigzag, where do you get the vendstars for $75? Are those triples? PerformaVending Posted July 13, 2016 Share Posted July 13, 2016 The candymachines.com unit you've posted is a clone of a clone of the Seaga TV3000/RouteMaster/RoutePro machines- every manufacturer has or had one it seems. They are, generally speaking, not terrible machines, but not exactly what I'd recommend- especially at that price. You can usually pick up machines like that for less than $100 on Craigslist every day of the week around here. Their biggest "pro" is that the wheels inside are clones of Northwestern gear, so you can upgrade them to use Northwestern coin mechanisms. They are also more durable than plastic triples when it comes to more abuse-heavy locations like laundromats, grocery stores, apartments, etc. Barring that, the guys are right- if you have to have triples, look for something lighter, modular, and less expensive. Though I would impress upon you that if you buy single head machines and simply put them together on a stand, you can get a lot more out of the equipment, and reuse/repurpose your investment as your business grows. Hop this helps. ☺ I just picked up my first 7 Vendstar triple heads today for $250 plus about $15 bucks in gas to go pick them up 45 minutes away. That makes them less than $38 per machine. Zigzag Vending Posted August 3, 2016 Share Posted August 3, 2016 Well, I live in the middle of nowhere, so locally sourced machines and parts arent always there so thats why i say $75 shipped. My best local vendstar pickup was maybe close to 10 machines or parts for $25 all. But, they came with candy in them. OLD candy. Youve never worked until uve dug out a full canister of hot tamales. Like new vendstars are worth picking up for $35-$40 a piece if you like using them. The great thing is after you have used one to feel out a location and what will sell, you can always bring in a nicer machine, maybe even just a single or double setup. And i just had one smashed over the weekend (first time dealing with vandalism) and all i had to do was replace two canisters and put new candy in.
