  1. What happened with Ford? (I only use their gum) I looked on their website and there's no mention of shutting down, and I see they're hiring right now. Are they ramping back up? Are they going to quick bulk gum but stay in the other gum?
  2. Would the AMS 39 with credit card reader be a good option?
  3. A local owner of 4 beer bars here in Idaho approached me asking to put in snack machines. In exchange if I handle that for her, she'll let me take over the vending for all 4 locations (pool tables, full arcade, atms, etc.). What snack machine would you guys recommend? 2 locations are right next to me (11 and 17 minutes drives) but the other 2 locations are far away (1 hour and 2 hours). I'd obviously prefer to not do the snack machines, but in exchange getting to do the pool/atm/arcade/everything else, it's worth it to make her happy. I'm hoping to find a larger capacity machine so hopefully I don't have to service it more then once a month, and with a credit card reader so I can track inventory levels remotely. The other 2 locations I'm fine with smaller capacity machines as I service other accounts right next to them all the time. Thanks in advance everyone (no soda, that's the only thing I can't vend lol)
  4. The owner of 4 barber shops approached me asking me to put in snack/soda machines. They’re “Locker Room” locations (I think it’s franchised locations, but I haven’t had my hair cut in 19 years so I don’t really know lol). Problem is, I don’t currently do snack. Almost all of my income is movie theaters, malls, restaurants, etc. (arcade/redemption/bulk) with some honor boxes sprinkled in. Are barber shops good enough locations to start the full line side of my business? Or are they too slow and it’ll just lead to wasted product and wasted travel time? (Anyone with ball park guesstimates, feel free to pm if you prefer to not state numbers, any advice is appreciated).
  5. I need about 1,600ish yorks next week to run my honor box route. Problem is Walmart is out of stock (all 5 of them in my area) and Amazon will just send me smashed and overpriced ones. I was just going to swap them all out for suckers since I can’t think of a way to find the yorks. Anyone know of a better solution? (I have enough extra sucker honor boxes and suckers laying around so I can do it no problem, it’s just some accounts will plummet because yorks just do way better in certain accounts…suckers do better in others, which is why I optimized of course)
  6. I've also thought about chaining the machines together, or maybe even bolting them to the wall or floor. But part of me would rather catch him then prevent the theft lol.
  7. During covid one of my local competitors never serviced his machines. I'd guess it had been 18+ months since he had. We share numerous accounts, and I continued servicing like normal this whole time. Well, I was able to get an account from "shared" to "exclusive." (turns out when you don't pay for 18 months, and the other guy pays on time like always, some managers like that more lol) The manager took his empty/product stale machines and put them in the back room. I put more machines in, and filled the lobby. Last service cycle 2 of my machines were stolen. It's 100% possible it was a customer or druggie etc. But I'm guessing it was him (another account we share he serviced for the first time in 18 months, which was the same week my machines were stolen). I think he's just pissed that I got an A- account exclusive, and I'm going to replace the two machines that were stolen since it's such a good account. But I was thinking of adding GPS to them to catch him in case this continues. Anyone ever done that before? If so, which gps did you use? Thanks in advance.
  8. I just got in 2 new duck cranes and both are play until you win. They’re going in 2 movie theaters, and the ducks ran me 28 cents per duck including shipping. Question: what price should I set each play at? I was thinking $1 per play, but I have to pay a commission of 33% and sometimes the machines accidentally vend two ducks (I played them maybe 100 times today and won 2 ducks 8%ish of the time). I also considered $2 per play but that seems a little high. $1.50 just seems weird. I have a dba on the machines, no credit cards. What do you guys think?
  9. I’ll be there. I’ve never done a card reader before on a machine but I have 4 machines I’m considering adding it to. I’d love to sit down and chat
  10. If you’re going to be at the nbva I’d love to grab a drink. I could tell you all about my dream machine lololol.
  11. Call it the toad hopper where you have to put a toad on a tiny Lilly pad or whatever you want, the game and name don’t matter. ALL that matters is someone seeing a $300 iPad and trying to play to win it, the actual mechanics and game name and playing style don’t matter.
  12. Wanted to add. For a machine in wa state to be legal it has to be 100% skill based (so theoretically someone could win an infinite amount of times in a row) but the trick would be to also make it hard as golpher so I could put a $300 iPad in it, still be able to pay the location, make some money, and not have prizes won so often I have zero margin.
  13. KeyMasters are 100% illegal in some states. 100% legal in other states. And in the grey area in other states. If you want a KeyMaster “type of machine” that’s legit and legal in every state I know of, it’s called a prize locker (it’s 100% skill based) I operate in 2 states. One has them as explicitly illegal. The other has them explicitly legal. So it’s easy for me in regards to how to operate. I don’t do tickets. Sorry can’t help you there. Make a prize locker that’s so hard to win that it’s roughly one out of 1,500 plays a win AND with a larger prize door, and you’ll be legal in every state that I know of and make BANK! I’d probably buy 20+ on day one of them myself assuming you got it explicitly LEGAL in Washington state (they have a list of machines banned and legal, example KeyMaster illegal, prize locker legal)
  14. "Stackerless" bill acceptor is what it's called. God I'm an idiot. I kept googling bill acceptor without stacker and couldn't find one. Finally just went to a random major bill acceptor sales website and looked through "all" until I found one.
  15. I just bought a used crusin USA and it didn’t come with a dba. I plugged a Mars AE 2631 D5E into it and it worked perfectly. The only problem is the one I plugged in has a bill stacker and the cruisn USA needs a dba without a stacker (basically just shoots the dollar bills out the back and down a shoot and into a metal bill/quarter box). what is a dba without a stacker referred to as? Where do you guys buy yours? (Used off of eBay?) sorry this is the first time I’ve ever needed a dba without a bill stacker. thanks in advance.
