treadmill
Will be servicing my route next week. Of the 27 locations 23 will be the first time. In the past I have paid commissions to location by counting the sales and pay by % in cash. I do keep very accurate records with a route master sheet and transfer info to excel spread sheets when I get home. My question is should I continue this way or should I pay by check. I know it probably doesn't matter but I would like to know what others are doing.

dperry
I pay in quarters when I service.
will.vend
I pay with cash always, sometimes I will roll enough quarters at the beginning of my route to pay the locations their percentage. paying in cash eliminates the hassle of waiting for checks to clear the bank. Beach Bum Vending
I have a few of my locations that never cash them! That's why I prefer check. I would be very cautious bouncy balls they may be adding them all up and you get slammed for thousands when they cash them :'(
sherlock
Maybe I shouldn't, but I let the locations decide. Some I pay in quarters, some via check, and one likes cash but not quarters so I take in folding money when I service that spot. More than half of my commission spots just take payment in quarters even when given the choice.

dperry
I have a location that takes ALL the quarters, and pays me back the difference in cash. They like to have their quarters handy.

bacho
Thirty percent of my route I pay by check, the rest I pay in cash with quarters. Like dperry said, they like those quarters.
timberframe50
One of my locations counts the quarters and pays me in real folding money.
dkochan
I pay most of my locations in quarters. A few locations want to be paid in cash and still fewer I pay in cash.
