dapoopta
Do you machine owners discount items that are about to expire? Maybe do 1/2price and put a 'special' sticker on that row of soon to expire items? I guess it might be a bad thing if people just keep waiting for items to expire and just buy then, but then again, you can move some product faster. what are your thoughts? I'm new and impressionable :-)
Sparta_Automation
Nope....personal opinion....never do that. I first try to rotate stock to other machines to minimize spoilage. However at the end, I take home with me and give to my office staff in my real full time gig.
dapoopta
sounds good :-) , that is what I was thinking also.
AZVendor
The best way to move short date items is to put them in your best location where they will move faster. I have customers that do that and I've seen some that will discount a row in a machine that will always have short date stuff in it. More than anything else, don't leave expired product on the breakroom table for people to eat for free. Each free item is one sale you won't make from your machine. Just take the stale items away and donate them to a shelter, eat them or throw them away.
dapoopta
I was thinking about doing the row with short date stuff, but not 'advertise' it as that. maybe put a SPECIAL sticker on it :-)
Golfdogs
I go to a recycling center once a week to unload the mountain of cardboard I collect. I give the workers there my stales. You should see them run when I pull in!
mission vending
It depends on the location, I do all of the above. Take it with me, discount it or give it away.
Golfdogs
I used to leave items on the break room table. That was until I had to break up a fight between two women who were literally wrestling over a honey bun! That why the recycle folks get the stales.
