AZVendor
I've got to tell you, I never dreamed with all the friggin casinos around here that there aren't any more Cummins or Brandt repair centers left in town. I've probably done the same searches that you have and did them for specific companies that I dealt with when I used the Brandt sorters and I found that Cummins is only in Illinois and Money Handling Machines, who only sells Glory now, is in Nebraska. I can't even find a local repair depot. Back in the 90's I had both here in Phoenix as well as a company in Vegas called Money Processing Systems who also owned Rowe distributorships here and in Vegas. I used to be able to load up my Brandt sorters and take them to be repaired locally but that doesn't seem to be the case now. I'm sure if I'd stayed in the operating end of things that I would know where to go but I'm not and I don't. It looks like Cummins is not forthcoming with operating manual downloads for some greedy reason. I think you'll need to call them and see if you can purchase one. arkhusker
I agree AZ. I am going to reach out to one other person I know and call cummins as well. You're right that they have closed ranks. Apparently no independent service co. can get parts for them now. Cummins does have a map with locations on their website and there is an office in Memphis. I've spoken with them about a currency discriminator and this is one of those companies (IMO) that knows they have the best product and doesn't care unless you're likely to spend thousands with them. They are used to dealing with banks and casinos, etc so a vendor is pretty small potatoes.I don't like doing business with that kind of company but the price was right and my VMS plays nice with Cummins so that I can directly import data from the counter to the software. I should be able to get my hands on a manual without paying for it.
AZVendor
That's terrific that the Cummins will interface with your software! That will make it worth whatever hoops you have to jump through to get it working.
arkhusker
Yes Sir! and the reason I went looking for a CA Jetsort to start with. MY old Brandt has seen it's better days and may be slightly out of calibration or something. It has paid for it self many fold. Hope this Jetsort holds up as well as the Brandt. Golfdogs
I'm looking at getting a currency discriminator. Any advice on what brand and where to buy would be most helpful. There is little and cryptic information on the www for these things.
