The can on the left is gloss black for the door and cabinet base. The right can is semi gloss rolled on to the cabinet with 1/4 nap roller. The middle can is semi gloss and is for the 'plastics' (trim, delivery port, inner door flap)857c0550-4340-4aff-9eed-dded428247cf_zps

I use, for soda machines, a filler primer to help hide imperfections or marks from sanding; then I apply the paint & primer gloss black combo from Rustoleum.  The primer does a great job of prepping the metal and providing a good uniform adhesion surface, and the paint goes on smooth and smart.

I used to use the Rustoleum Professional gloss black, but I found the Universal paint comes out looking MUCH better in the end (there's less mist), is much more forgiving of mistakes, and it's a comparable formula.

Some gloss black paints do look a little sharp for a vending machine I think.  The paint combination I use comes out satisfactorily for me though.  It looks good without being "shiny".
