Magiccity726
What black paint do you use to refurbish soda machines? I've been using a glossy black paint but it doesn't quite look right. I have a bunch of 501 machines that need to be refurbished. Thanks
AngryChris
On the last machine I had done (by a friend), I believe he used black automotive paint. I think it was something similar to a semi-gloss automotive black paint.
lacanteen
The can on the left is gloss black for the door and cabinet base. The right can is semi gloss rolled on to the cabinet with 1/4 nap roller. The middle can is semi gloss and is for the 'plastics' (trim, delivery port, inner door flap)
Vendors Tech
I use, for soda machines, a filler primer to help hide imperfections or marks from sanding; then I apply the paint & primer gloss black combo from Rustoleum. The primer does a great job of prepping the metal and providing a good uniform adhesion surface, and the paint goes on smooth and smart. I used to use the Rustoleum Professional gloss black, but I found the Universal paint comes out looking MUCH better in the end (there's less mist), is much more forgiving of mistakes, and it's a comparable formula. Some gloss black paints do look a little sharp for a vending machine I think. The paint combination I use comes out satisfactorily for me though. It looks good without being "shiny".
