What are your thoughts on wooden stands?.

Every now and then i find myself with more heads than stands. I look at wooden stands and just think. I see them cheaper than the cast iron and chrome maybe i should get one. But then i think they might be cheap for a reason

 

My reasons against them are

1. Doesn't blend with head

2. Not strong enough

3. More likely to be booted.

 

Am i wrong? Does anyone use wooden?

I sometimes get wooden stands with a lot of equipment, (I don't go buying them on their own) and I'll use them in places where it matches the decor.

I would be embarrassed to walk into a location with a wooden stand.  No offense to those who love those things, but I wouldn't use one if you gave me 20 of them for free.  I would use it for fire wood.  It looks absolutely silly.

Thats what i was thinking they are very ugly and dont blend with the head. Maybe if i got a log cabin?? But basically for the rest 99 percent of locations i could not imagine using them

I only have one wooden stand, it is on a 1800 machine in a tiny Mexican food place. The owner actually complimented me on how good the wooden stand looked.
