Dixie Narco 5591 key pad

My DN5591 key pad sometimes quits working but when I unplug and replug it in the key pad works for a few more weeks.  Is that a bad keypad or maybe just the connection is poor?

could be both, check the keypad with an ohms reader, do a continuity test

You can only do that with the harness unless the manual shows how to ohm out the keypad.

Keep fighting.  I had one 5591 where the cable bundling was a little to tight and opening the door slowly worked the cable loose from the keypad connection.  Another one had a bad keypad, then later a bad cable.  That one was frustrating, you replace the pad, and everything is fine, then get complaints again, replace again, works while you are there, not after you leave - finally replaced the cable and all was good.

So I replaced the key pad and cable.  I thought it was all good but today it started doing the same thing.  The cable is plenty long enough when the door is open so that's not the issue.  Does anyone have another suggestion?
