PerformaVending Posted August 24, 2016 Share Posted August 24, 2016 NEN has Walmart locked down over here in Wisconsin, eastern Minnesota, and some of the Michigan UP (as of my last trip up that way). I've heard tales of a few slammers that got away with placing things for short stints, but the stories never ended well for the machines as I recall. I placed one of my own gumball machines right across from the rack without permission and it made about 6.00$ in 3 days. There is a nail salon in the local Walmart whose previous owner was operating a gumball machine right outside the business for 2 years. It was abandoned and sat there for a year before I started inquiring about it and he came and got it real fast. I'm going to approach them again soon about placing mine. It was an amazing location. I didn't really gain anything from it other than to satisfy my own curiosity that you can place a machine literally anywhere and get away with it if you act like you know what you're doing. I placed one machine in a corporate owned / franchise location without permission for 3 days. Mostly malls and grocery stores. I only had one person ask what I was doing and I said "Corporate said it was OK" and they went away. It doesn't happen often but if a machine shows up in a location I have a commercial contract with I take it around back and toss it in a dumpster.
