Hello everyone,

I am looking for a pedestal style postage vending machine for a visitor information center. If anyone has an idea where I might be able to purchase a new one or if you have a manufacturer contact for them, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Brian,

We talked earlier today, I still don't have an answer for you but here are a few places to try. I'd bet that the following companies don't have them but as parts suppliers and refurbishing centers there might be someone to talk to that can give you a referral. So here goes:

http://www.betson.com/

http://www.veii.com/

http://www.amequipmentsales.com/

http://www.vendorsequipment.com/

http://dsvendinginc.com/

Guys, If any else has any suggestions for places for Brian to try please post.

Good luck with you hunt.

Are you wanting to vend individual stamps or books of stamps?

Thanks "Moderator" for your information. Decaturjack I'm looking for individual stamps. I someone still makes the machines that sells books of stamps, I would be interested in seeing their product as well. Thank you both for responding to my request. I appreciate it.

Can you buy stamps at wholesale? As much as you would pay for any type of machine to vend stamps it would likely take years for ROI one stamp at a time. I'd just sell books of stamps. My local bank sold strips of stamps for a few years through their ATM machines.

Here's one place though:

From Rdendy's comment I took a quick look at e-bay and found this:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_kw=pedestal+stamp+vending+machine

as well as the results from "stamp vending machine" that yielded a myriad of results

Hope this helps your search. Let us know how it goes.

I was thinking the same.

Are stamps available wholesale?

this is the one I saw earlier, up to $66.

I also am very friendly with another vendor in the area and he primarily has an agreement with a convenience store chain and has racks in them all. I have been noticing him putting a stamp machines on the racks. I know he started with 1 at the store up from his house and where I stop for breakfast on my way to work. I am guessing his trial worked great since he seems to be adding them to more and more.

That's very interesting.

You ever think of picking his brain on stamp vending?

I am just not interested in adding stamps to my product line. With the post office steadily losing money and trying to make up for it I just see to many issues. Plus they are doing badly because snail mail just isn't popular or needed as it used to be meaning less and less demand.

I saw a story today about the Post Office offering incentives for people to retire or quit. I don't think you can get them wholesale, rather you would either sell them at face or mark them up for the convenience.

When I spoke to the original poster I got the impression that it would be a matter of offering convenience. Either way, some helpful information posted.

thanks.

Halfway through my 12 hour road trip I stumbled upon this bulk machine in a gas station. It looks like it's using toy capsules and has two stamps in each. This vendor can't be making very much money off of this though, if stamps cost $0.45 and then the cost of the capsule is added on as well.

couldn't one just put stamps into a small cardboard folder like the kind used for stickers and vend them out of a sticker/tat/flat machine?

That would be what I would do. You can buy the folders and the machines from A&A. Could make your vend price whatever you needed.

I saw your post the other day but it meant nothing to me at the time as I did not know where to buy a postage machine. However, I can across this today and had to search for your post as I knew that I had just see someone ask.

I hope this helps. I can't speak for the company as I have never purchased from them but here's the link!

Btw you might want to look into it, but with my prior knowledge of stamps, I do not believe that you can sell postage for anymore than face value. Not even sales tax as they are already taxed.

The only way to get around that is sell a stamped envelope and charge whatever you wish. You are still only selling the stamp at face value and anything more is what your charging for the envelope!

Good luck!

Holy Thread Revival....this thread was started over a year ago and has had no activity in months.

It's nice of you to want to help, but I don't think the poster will ever see your advice.

The original poster only visited our forum for his two posts (also made over a year ago) and then never came back.

Wow I see that know! I never went digging in the archives or anything, when I saw it for the first time a week ago and seeing it yesterday, I found it on the first page of posts.

I guess I should check "expiration" dates better!
