mission vending
yep, cummins allison sells them..about 15K i think ron I've seen other counter/sorters go for around 5-7K. As a rule of thumb the cheaper they get the slower they work in terms of processing # of coins. The cummins is the best of the best.
treadmill
For nothing you can dump them out and seperate by hand, saving you about 15k.

fun factory
I almost bought some Cummins-Allison Coin counters, they have several models ranging from 5,000 to 25,000. I had a store I operate in that wants one, so I took a look at what they had to offer. As for a business, this is close to my DVD Vending operations in that, its on the pricey side to get started. The ROI on them can vary by location, but I do know some coinstar guys and their average pull is about 2,000 per week on a machine.
Vendfun
Didn't know that Coinstar has a franchising agreement ?
fun factory
They don't, they are owner operators only. FYI they also own Redbox.
spdydre
does anyone own/operate one of these coinstars to get some more input on these?
fredfarmer775
Banks now-a-days are doing this service for free so I don't think there's much future for this type of vending.
orsd
vending is the process of selling convenience at a higher cost. sure, you could go drive to the bank, but the atms don't handle change. meaning that you have to go during business hours. The coin star is pretty much open whenever the store its at is open. also, there are more stores than banks. so coin star is more convenient, and so thats how it can get away with a fee.
