Oasis Vending
The picker is hitting the shelf instead of the button to release drink
lacanteen
Is it missing the target high/low or left/right? Most likely problem is X/Y motor, or X belt tension.
AZVendor
Follow the manual for resetting the home position and setting the X/Y limits. Make sure the cabinet is perfectly square with a level. Don't put the level on the door or anywhere other than the edges of the cabinet.
Oasis Vending
Missing high/low, will attempt suggestions, thank you
lacanteen
If it's missing high/low by a marginal amount would call for an adjustment to the "shelf offset".
Oasis Vending
Just a follow up, I called Dixie Narco and they walked through a bunch of different tests. In the end he said they didn't really change anything and that the switch on the bottom of the picker was probably dirty. I hope it continues to work! Thanks
Oasis Vending
Went to Location, display was black, reset machine, the picker isn't lined up with shelf again, aligned everything, wiped switch on bottom of picker, it worked, I left. Anybody know why this keeps misaligning?
AngryChris
Is the belt loose anywhere? If the screen was black, and IF it was black because the board messed up, then a bad board could easily be the problem here.
Oasis Vending
Possibly, I will have to check that, hopefully the manual states how to do this
AngryChris
Just so you are aware, the way the machine knows where to go on the X/Y axis is because the belt has the notches in it. The belt and the gears on the motor are designed to know precisely how far the motor has to run to go a certain distance. So, as long as the motor never skips any "teeth" on the belt, and as long as the board isn't defective, then the machine should work flawlessly. If the belt is loose somewhere OR if there is something wrong with the gears, either of those two can cause problems. Basically, ANYTHING that can allow the belt to move when the gear is not (and visa-versa) can cause your X/Y axis to be off. However, a bad board can cause the machine to constantly default to the factory settings which could be even slightly off and cause all of these problems too. So... the manual may tell you stuff which is obviously useful, but for practical purposes, the belt and gear must align perfectly through every vend in order for the machine to work properly. One way to KNOW if the board is at fault though (as far as programming goes) is to find out WHERE the machine thinks the home position is (ie. 012, 001 or whatever numbers it has) when it is working correctly. If the machine suddenly can't find home position again, and you find out that the home position is said to be elsewhere, then you know that the machine "forgot" where home was set to and it either has a bad battery or something else is causing chaos. Also, if the machine is working fine for a while and then suddenly forgets its home position again, and the new home position is the same as the last time it forgot its home position, then you know it is defaulting to a factory default, which means something is causing the machine to reset (usually a bad battery). I know this is a long post, but to clarify, if you were to draw a white line where the gear aligns with the teeth on the belt, no matter how many vends and cycles it goes through, the line between the gear and the teeth on the belt should always line up when they get near. This applies for both axis.
Oasis Vending
Thank you for that explanation, I see there is an upgrade for the bev max 3 to go to a 4. It's about 1,000, supposed to take care of all problems! Should a person do this? I'm so frustrated with the machine I was going to buy a refurbished one anyhow
AngryChris
If the gears or belts are the problem, then the upgrade won't fix that. If it's a board problem, then it most definitely should.
