Sgolembiewski0903
Hi all! As some of you know, I am in AZ. I spoke to one of the local vending service guys who told me not to store my bill acceptors in the heat - but I forgot to ask about coin mechs... Do any of you guys store your coin mechs outside (possibly, in heat like AZ?)
AZVendor
Coin mechs can handle the heat, it's just the validator belts that can't if the validator is just sitting around.
orsd
However, is it really that hard to pull them and stash them in a closet? They get less dusty too.
Sgolembiewski0903
Thank you all very much for your answers! It does seem a 100% concensus has been reached: * Feel free to store coin mech wehever * Do not store your bill validators in extreme climates
Poplady1
We had an extra set of mech's and validators on our trucks for breakdowns. We also had common mechs and validators in 75% of our machines. For those odd ones, we would stash an extra set in the bottom of the snack machine or drink machine. If there was a problem, the route driver switched them, brought them back to the shop to send off for repair. If it was a simple repair like new belts we did it in house. Then we stashed them back in the machine bottom it came from and we were set to go. We didn't have many machines outside. We only put replacement mechs in the bottoms. Validators were kept in the back of the trucks.
