chase1133
Help adjusting cam from 2 deep to 3 cans deep. How to move it.
savend
If you look at the came you can see the 4 little holes and one is partially filled. The cam has two pieces of plastic. The upper part of the cam can be adjusted by lifting up slightly and rotating.
AZVendor
Just pry the front grey cam away from the rear grey cam where you see the number 2 and then adjust the front cam. This will cause the motor to stop three times but there is more to changing the column from 2 deep to 3. If you're changing from 16 or 16.9 oz cans or bottles to 12 oz cans then the same side shim is used but you have to move the gauge bar, the rear spacer and put a spacer shim on the gauge bar to hold the second can in place. If you're changing from 20 oz bottles to cans then you need a new side spacer for cans. Email me at rbepic4gatgmaildotcom if you need parts. chase1133
If I am changing from bottled to cans and running 3 deep. I just need to move the gauge bar and change out shims? Right now when it vends with cans I am getting 2 , 1, then 0.
AngryChris
You might need a different cam setting with 3 notches in it (sometimes there are 2 different settings for 3-deep) but not having the right shims and proper gauge bar setting can definitely cause you to vend 2, 1, 0, 2, 1, 0, etc.. because there is too much space. Bottles, being wider, can't slip past their gauge bar setting just as cans can't slip by when everything is properly setup.
AZVendor
Here is the Vmax setup guide from Vendo. You want to look at the 12 oz can setup page to see what all needs to be done to convert from bottles to cans. Email me if you need any of the parts. http://vendoco.com/Documents/V-Max Set-up Guides_TRADE.pdf

chase1133
Thanks! What is the purpose of it though?
AngryChris
The shim? It makes the product so it is staggered in such a way so that things don't get jammed as everything tries to fit in the rotors or oscillators, and it prevents misvends. Think of it almost like a funnel in a sense... it makes the stack fall in a uniform manner. Different products come in different diameters so they need different shims. Otherwise, the machines would only have ever been able to vend one package size (12 oz cans probably) and nothing else.
Mandysvending
I am trying to do the same thing but have no clue where to put the spacers. PN1060686
AZVendor
They slide into a hole in the back of the stack on the right side of the column above the rotor, then the front tab slides through a hole in the front of the stack. If you choose the correct holes then the shim will be level and you then put a cotter clip in the tab to secure the shim.
