Royal 660-8 GIII loses memory when unplugged

The board is OEM coke. It forgets prices, time/date, and StS settings when unplugged.

I Should I just upgrade my board and that should fix it? I want a card reader eventually anyway which I think needs a new board for it.

Not sure if it forgets if I push the off button on the outlet controller, but I’ll try it next time I restock it.

The timekeeper chip on the board has gone bad.

So my options are buy a new board or keep resetting everything when I unplug it?

Oh wow that’s great. I have 1 flickering fluorescent bulb and another one burnt out. I’ve heard of some people having weird issues because their bulbs are bad, but I guess that wouldn’t be the case here and I should just get that timekeeper?

Timekeeper has a 95% chance of solving your issue

But do take care of the flickering lamp as that can cause interference and and slew of other problems.  Sounds like a perfect time to upgrade to LED lighting.

Yeah I really want to do that when I have the funds. I wouldn’t need a new board, would I? Also do you recommend any brands/places to buy them?

No need to change the board.  A  vending distributor that carries Royal parts should be able to help.

I’m a college student with this one machine I got for $200. It’s more of a hobby than a job.
