joeman242320
I'm in Idaho and I don't think there is anyone in Boise that sells vending machines. The biggest problem ordering a new machine online is the shipping is super expensive. Anybody have any good recommendations on a company out west where the shipping might not be so painful? allen watson
I just had a machine delivered. 500 miles from Oakland to LA - $330. Commercial address, no lift gate. If it gets delivered to a residence and needs a lift gate the cost goes way up.
NYCandyMaN
don't buy a machine until you have a place to put it, your front or back yard or garage doesn't count

Another troll....yes I watch where I spend my money and how I spend it. Can I afford the expensive shipping, yes. Do I want to pay it, not if I have to. Why spend 5 to 700 bucks if i can spend 3 to 400.

Is not bad at all now days. Fuel alone could be half that. If you don't like it, rent a truck, all the proper equipment, fill it up (with diesel that costs more than unleaded), take a day yourself and go pick it up. I'm just saying that if you have the money and good location... to buy a "new" machine, then why squabble over shipping charges. order it, get it delivered, place it, and done. Yeah I thought about going and getting it myself. I'm on the west coast and the machine is in Georgia. I could fly there, rent a truck, and drive it back. That's a big trip though through the Midwest in the middle of winter and doesn't sound like any sort of fun. I just thought some folks on here might have some connections in the west on here. You cut the shipping distance considerably and it should be cheaper. That's all I was looking for was anyone that had a good west coast salesman they rely on. tblake05
Thats a haul to buy a machine. Did you get a good deal on it? Michelle from Beltman is pretty good- reasonable prices. She'll want dimensions and weight, plus pickup and drop off addresses in order for her to get you a quote.

I've never been back out east though...so if I was going to make a trip like that I'd like to make the most of it. No deal, its just from where I usually buy stuff. So I thought I'd shop around. Models are pretty comparable in price from one place to the next. Its the shipping that is expensive. That's a non value add (to the machine) expense. If I can shave a couple of hundred off the cost then why not.

Vendo Mike
Vending distributors in that area that I currently work with are... Wachtor Electronics - Salt Lake, UT Choice Vending - Layton, UT Smitty's Vending - Portland, OR Betson Ent - Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake, Santa Fe Springs, CA Vina - Fullerton, CA Avanti - Redding, CA A-1 Dist - Sacramento, CA I'm fairly confident the bottlers in Boise (PBC and Swire) offer a 3PO program as well. joeman242320
Thanks Mike! I'm not familiar with a 3PO program. Is that like a 3rd Party Operator. I've never ventured into anything like that. I buy my machines and place them myself and do all the upkeep. Do you know how that works?
Vendo Mike
3rd Party Operator - Operator signs a contract stating that the bottler provides equipment and the operator will purchase product from said bottler at a specified price. Nothing is free so understand that you're paying for the equipment (that you will never own) by paying more for the product. They will also require that you use no or very few columns of competitor products (MtDew in a Coke vendor, etc) It's good if you're tight on funds. joeman242320
Interesting, I've never heard of that. It would be a good way to get product. I'd rather own my machines and put what I want in them. It seems to be a mixed bag of what people like in this area. Plus they don't have snack machines. I'm good on beverage machines at the moment but might need a couple more this summer.
Vendo Mike
If you have the capital then you're likely better off in the long run to own your equipment and buy the product that your customers want at wholesale prices. 3PO's pay more for the product to get the equipment with little to no out of pocket. Gizmo Vending
Also if you have the capital, and you’re planning on putting more machines out this summer. AND you have a place to store, your shipping price will get better if you’re buying more and shipping together. I get machines shipped all the time but I’ve never bought less than 3 to ship for that reason. They go to an address with a dock and forklift. If you can’t locate these or no access to dock and forklift then I wouldn’t do this.
