Crane 167 door lighting

I have two Crane 167 snack machines and the transformer for the door lights are shot. Crane says they don't make them anymore.

Is there a good replacement for these?

Are you referring to the ballast?  The fix is to bypass the ballast and use LED of same size that gets hard wired to the 110v lines that went through th ballast.

What Crane said, as the worst thing that ever happened to vending, is that they don't sell the ballast, but it's still commonly available if you want to put florescent bulbs back in.  Any lighting store will sell them and the big box stores will sell electronic ballasts.

The ballasts seem to be fine. I have tried regular flourescents, and led replacement and no light.

I have only personally seen a transformer fail once and I scrapped that machine because the used transformer would have cost more than the machine was worth.  I believe it was an AP 5000.  

A 167 is a good machine but I'm unaware of a transformer failing and only affecting the lights.
