NinnJinn
I am wanting to buy a prius as my next vehicle. I can lay the back seats down and with the hatchback, I can hopefully double stack the cases.

ANDERSONVENDING
If I,m not mistaken, Toyota has the batteries stored under the back seat.If you overload it you can overheat the batteries.Do not try to use a Prius for carrying cases of soda!Do your homework on this car before you buy it. NinnJinn
I'm with john anybody that does vending needs a van imo if you vend out of a car its more of a headache and time consuming What would be nice is if the locations I have would take off, and I can have a van solely devoted to vending. and then have a some what of a temp controlled garage to keep it in so I don't have to load and unload the product constantly. With the holidays coming up, I had to order extra to get me through til after the first of the year. So that meant after stocking the machines, I had to unload cases of product, to keep them from freezing. Whew, this 35yr old body/back isn't what it used to be. I felt like I was 60 today. I had muscles hurting that I didn't know that I had!

IF ,has a big meaning. If my business was ideal,I would have a larger van with an air conditioner that kept the interior a constant 70 degrees and my garage was big enough for me to store everything that I have stored in the house. alboy88
mike i hear you, i usually lose a few cans during the winter myself it would be great to have a big warehouse that was temp control and a place to keep the van and have all my spare machines parts and pieces in one spot

ThankYouComeAgain
Where do you people buy box trucks? I searched the net and can not find where one would look for these at in my local area. Take for example the Isuzu NPR...I couldn't find it under ISUZU DEALERSHIP (and my city name which I'm leaving out) on google.com or on Autotrader.com. Try http://www.commercialtrucktrader.com/ they are owned by autotrader.com. Craigslist can be a good source. Also, there are usually small local dealers that specialisze in reselling commercial fleet trucks. Here is one near me http://allstatetrucksales.com/ You may want to ask at another route based business owner where they buy used trucks as these dealers don't usually advertise alot. dannie
Coinvestor, you really have that thing loaded up....I was thinking of possibly getting like a scion xb. Thought maybe it would work after the back seat are removed and it gets like 32 miles to the gallon.

Thought maybe it would work after the back seat are removed and it gets like 32 miles to the gallon. I bought this van for 9k for vending. I was scared to buy a commercial cargo van at that point and I thought I could always use this for hauling kids. The way things worked out with getting new accounts, I was only able to use this setup for 4-5 months. You should have seen my wife's face when I told her that I needed to buy another vehicle If you plan on growing your vending business, don't limit your growth because you have your capital/credit tied up in a vehicle that can't be used for a vending business. Any vehicle short of a step van or box truck is a temporary route vehicle. Looking back I wish I had bought an old cargo van or enclosed trailer for $1500-2000, used it on the route for as long as I could, then use it as a supply/repair later.
