cvending Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Does anyone use tokens in their vending services? If so, how do they work? We are in need of a way to provide free sandwich and drink to our customer's employees. Each employee would get one drink and one sandwich per shift worked. Naturally they don't want to give them cash but a token would work. We do use some CoinCo coupons for a few accounts bu they do not seem to hold up very well. That is why we thought tokens would work better. Any thughts would be apreciated Steve
Chard Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 If you have card readers on these machines Maybe you could have them use their employee ID and credit that once per day for each of the items you mentioned. I know they do this on the micromarket all the time so I imagine you might be able to do it through the card reader. Please let me know what you work out I'd be interested in hearing the results.
lacanteen Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 The MEI CF7512 changer has a token free vend available to set. It's not hard to set up. You should find an odd sized token to program so you don't end up catching Chuck-E-Cheese tokens. I have done it in casinos in the past for cigarettes, but the casino provided the tokens. I believe I posted the manual here in the download section. If not, I will. As for token sizes, .985 is slightly larger than a quarter and popular in game rooms. A vending distributor that also handles amusements would be helpful in this if you have a relationship with one.

Can set it up with various different settings from the looks of it. I haven't used it myself, but I keep it in mind for should the need arise. If employees already have an employee card, it could be set up to use their existing card, or you can get NFC stickers of cards reasonably cheaply. Would be worth looking in to if you already have readers, as it would be more flexible and less work than tokens once set up.

Thanks for the input I think there are also a few companies that offer off-line recharge card solutions for staff but am unsure if they are available in the US. I think that NW Global offers something called the MZIP (which may be available thru VEII) NRI also had an offline system but I can't remember what they call it. Sorry...
