BookCrate
considering adding trackers to mine before placing for peace of mind, though I live in a pretty decent area. if anything, it'll easily prove ownership if a location owner ever tries to screw me over. gumball guy
Losing machines occasionally is just part of the bulk vending business. Usually it happens when a business closes abruptly and your machine disappears into the night. Sometimes you can track em down and sometimes you can't. Unfortunately I just don't have enough time to spend searching for the occasional stolen machine and it just becomes a write off.
NYCandyMaN
I was thinking of trackers also, problem is they are very limited, Milwaukee came out with the "tick" a bit iffie on how it works, but cheap and durable
orsd
No point. By the time I spend time money and energy buying the devices and keeping them charged, I could have just bought a bunch of new machines to replace them with. Also, I'd rather spend the money on locks.
shvending
No point of adding trackers to much time, money, and hassle. It is part of the business over the years I have lost count of how many machines that I have had come up missing.
AMD Snacks
tile makes little trackers that kind of work. I just lost a rack full of money and product, and if anything I might have considered putting one in there, because it was a seedy neighborhood in a laundry mat that was supposed to be monitored by a staff the whole day. But that's the exception, I don't have many machines get stolen a year.
GumballDragon
I had 1 machine stolen and posted a similar thread. I was beyond pissed, and still think about it every once in a while. Nothing is worse than walking into a location, and realizing your machine is gone. Absolutely full of rage. Second worst situation is when you service your machine, only to find out the locks are jammed or machine has been intentionally tampered with. I'm beginning to notice this in locations where a COMPETITOR is present. This behavior is also really pissing me off.
QuikVend
Although I wouldn't go through the added expense of adding trackers I just saw an ad for this product. You can track it with your phone. https://secure.thetrackr.com/?discount=V0T73FUGUKEB&gclid=CjwKCAiA7ovTBRAQEiwAo8dPcd1fyOQmlLxtKx61KGnZS5w93WX3yg4dzrGC08HjkyQAxIXMyqRQMRoC3ckQAvD_BwE
BookCrate
trackr doesn't seem too bad, crowd locate might be useful. someone should really design one with GPS that pings for location every 12 hours or so to conserve battery, and notifies you only if the object has moved more than X feet.
