Razorsharpvending
I have a AP123 Vending Machine. I am having trouble with it. The machine freezes up on the snack selection sometimes and disables the payment. I went on my nayax app and see an No communication to the VMC code. I swap out bill validators. Are there any other things to look for? It is a refurbished machine.
Gamvend
Was it working before ? Did you just install the card reader then it stopped working? As far as communication goes, is the DEX cable connected?
Vendo Mike
What error is being listed when it "freezes up on snack selection". If it doesn't "home" the motor, it will disable all payment systems until errors are reconciled. It does not want to accept money if it believes it cannot vend. Any time you add a card reader to an older machine, you will want to confirm that it's firmware is up to date. You should take a pic of the board (including eprom chip) and share so someone on here can confirm that firmware is compatible AP123 is a good machine but can only do so much with old firmware. lacanteen
Firmware needs to be 5.24 or higher. Also, a lot of 123 control boards are getting stupid and losing DEX data. Any board failures we have are replaced with In-One VMC kit. Make sure your cord is grounded and light not flickering.

AZVendor
We don't need to see the board, we know what it is. If you're still having issues with the card reader maybe you need to take lacanteen's advice and change the board to an Inone Technologies board. You are going to be limited with what that legacy board can do. Did you verify that your machine is grounded as suggested before. You should also have a good florescent bulb in the machine and in machines and over head lights nearby to prevent interference. You also need to test your wall outlet to verify that there is no leakage of hot to ground and that you have a clean ground with good voltage available. Also, if this machine is on a circuit with a heavy power user like a soda machine, frozen or cold food machine, coffee machine, microwave oven or ice maker that would be bad news.
