Raedarius
I am trying to replace the compressor in my old Pepsi vending machine but I am having trouble determining the model. Can anyone help me out?
AZVendor
That is a Vendo so you will need to pull the deck out and get it replaced. The problem with old Vendos like that is that the bottom of the cabinet isn't very stiff and it bends up if someone moves the machine from the front while product is in it. In that case you might need to use a pry bar under the compressor base to wedge it out of the machine. Then you need to find someone to put a new compressor, fan motor and filter/dryer on it. Raedarius
Thanks for your advice. Do you know if the machine is one of these models listed under this link: https://vendingworks.com/products/vendo-model-vc407? I have been trying to find the exact model and I haven't had any luck. I have seen that there is supposed to be tag on the outside of the machine but it looks like it was removed from the machine I have. If this is the right unit, I might try installing it myself. Someone in town here said it would cost $1,000-$2000 to replace and that seems pretty high if all I would need to do is swap out the units. AngryChris
Are you very fond of this machine? I would scrap it if it were me.
AZVendor
That deck won't fit it. Your evaporator in a machine that old is going to be a narrow one that is taller than the one in the photo and is angled back from front to back to clear the delivery chute. That is why you'll need to have someone rebuild it with a new compressor.
falls
Have a look at https://www.monstervending.com/parts/vendo-v45t-v25t.htm to see if that looks like your unit. Ring and discuss with them before ordering though, to make sure it is the correct unit, as I don't have a vague clue whether V45AB and V45T are the same/interchangeable

I will reach out to them and see if it would fit. It certainly looks like the one I have.

It's not worth your money to fix that machine at practically any price if it's for a profitable business. That's why I ask. A machine like that should be scrapped/junked/given away. It's not only obsolete but it's hard to fix due to lack of parts as you're finding out.
AZVendor
It's a lowering shelf machine and I never recommend anyone buy one due to the lack of parts for the vend mechanisms.

I was just using it at home, but either way I think you're right. Maybe I'll to Frankenstein something together from an old fridge to get it working.
