  1. I have had problems with wittern as well. When installing updated boards they have to be reprogrammed for either snack or soda and I haven't been able to find the instructions on the web. That means sitting on hold for 1.5 hours only to have it answered by a different department and be told someone from tech support will call you back. I never got the callback. I can't afford that sort of time. The other problem I ran into was a 10yr old USI, glass front combo with a bad compressor. The deck is obsolete with no replacement making the entire machine scrap! It's only 10yrs old!
  2. I didn't even check. Are there functionality issues with the talos units and older 3 tubes mechs and conlux 5?
  3. This week I noticed the Talos (bill reader) is incompatible with an AP Studio. Mei tech was stumped, worked in the 721 next to it and the MEI 27XX worked just fine in the studio, so all components were functional, just incompatible. Also the Studio has upgraded firmware as it is currently running CC hardware.
  4. Why not just purchase an existing route?
  5. Sts assigns selection switches to the columns you choose, So you can in practice make selection 1 activate columns 4,5,&6. ect. If you buy an unknown machine or board it could have various criteria programmed, such as STS that could make your machine act the way you describe. Pulling the battery and keeping it out for a minute or two will erase the settings on the board and reset them to default.
  6. no idea now days. Wittern prices have gone through the roof. I don't think they rebuild old ones. We have two that were used, but in good shape. We don't operate any combo units though unless it's a large location with special circumstances.
  7. I've got two complete replacement decks for sale.
  8. it sounds like a space to sales issue. Check button assignments on sts.
  9. very helpful! Will do! Thank you gentlemen!
  10. it is setup for all cans with proper shimming and rods. These are actual jams. The cans appear to begin their final drop and then it appears the motors reverse, pinching the cans 20% up from the bottom of the can, laying on its side. All jammed columns do the exact same thing and it always begins at column 2 or 3 and includes 4,5,6,&7 columns. I've verified the columns are being loaded correctly. When replacing the board, all connectors seem securely connected. I have not yet verified power at the motors, but I am always able to run 30-40 successful test vends before leaving the location. I have confirmed there are power surges at the location recently.
  11. We have a machine that will occasionally jam 4 or 5 columns. I don't know if it happens all at once or separately, but when we get there they are all jammed. I've seen similar problems caused by power surges with other 501e's. Typically a control board or motor switches are the culprit. With this machine we've replaced the control board and all motor switches and it did the same thing after 3 weeks of working fine. The power cord is unencumbered with no visible cuts, voltage at the outlet is 120v. I cannot reproduce the jam. It sells lots of cases between jams. Any ideas?
  12. I've used large body washers to hold the mounting plate of a cashless device in place on the 721/621
  13. We run 100% 5800's for glassfronts just because we can't get the narrower units from the bottlers (no inventory for over 2 years) We sold off all our rvv500s over concerns that parts might not be easily available into the future. Narrower units are really nice for locations when a 5800 won't fit and they don't want a market.
  14. weekday is different about thr bevmax refresh? Is it just a refurbushed bevmax 4? Has anyone tried the new glassfront vendos?
  15. take out the buttom two shelves, take apart the dog house covering the compressor, remove connections unbolt, cut zip tie, pull handle, and carefully remove deck without damaging the elevator components.
  16. i repaired a usi similar to this model the other day for a client with the same problem. It was the main wiring harness. the wires were pinched by one of the straps that secure it to the cabinet.
  17. The consolidation on the supplier side has made it difficult to negotiate for better service. Vending has consolidated to a ridiculous extent as well.
  18. I'm wondering how big our orders are for convenience and cold food deliveries compared to other vending and hotels. I'm trying to see what leverage we have with our suppliers. Right now we only do about $3000/week in orders for snacks and cold food and about $3500/week with bottlers. We're being given no attention from our suppliers though, just excuses. Im thinking of seeing what other spoilers I can contact?
  19. the folding mechanism on that handle is prone to not locking completely if you don't make sure it clicks. Check the door thoroughly to ensure it locks after you service it.
