  1. Just saw your post. I just posted something you might be interested in concerning a Conversion Kit for vending Pearson Mint Patties. Search my posts or send me an email and I could give you more info cnavending@verizon.net
  2. We actually sell sun screen cards on ebay, the picture on these sun screens show gumballs
  3. Several years ago I posted in this forum about the conversion kit we created to vend Pearsons Mint Patties from the original York Peppermint Patty machines by installing our kit. We have been selling them successfully since year 2009. At one time we had a website but have since stopped publishing to one. We have been relying exclusively on ebay,, Facebook & Youtube to promote. We even have a youtube video showing how it works. If anyone would want more information I would be glad to send it along. I could be contacted at cnavending@verizon.net
  4. We tried the Tootsie Rolls years ago and tried bringing them back last year. Both times they were duds. We had them in 1.1 caps at the time.
  5. I checked out the website and was quite impressed with what they have. I was ready to place an order but thought about the government regulations regarding testing for lead and phalates. I did not see any information on their website concerning this. As an example, A&A Global has a section devoted to "Certificates of Conformity". Do you know if they have any testing performed or if the Test results are available if requested?
  6. Looks really great and professional too. You could also get some good deals (and free offers too) for many business products including brochures, cards etc from: www.vistaprint.com
  7. Has anyone come accross "Local town Mechanical Device (vending tax)". For those of you not familiar with this tax. It is a tax instituted by an individual town where they set a fee for all vending machines from cranes, Bulk Vending, Cigarette machines, Video Games, everything related to vending. In some towns the fees are so high that they can literally shut your business down or seriously discourage a business from having vending. When you do the math and calculate your costs for Product, commission, freight, fuel etc and factor in this Local tax you can easily in some cases actually come up with a loss. In one of these towns the fees are based on the price point, not the type of machine or product. For a 25 cent gumball machine the one town wants $85 a year. 50 cent and higher they want $125 per year. At least the other towns that are doing it are not as outrageous as this one. I realize that you would have to address this problem with each local government and present your case however when you are dealing with multiple towns this is quite the challenge. These days everybody is looking for new sources of revenue and they got this idea that taxing the vending machines will help them solve their money problems. How common is this in your areas and how do you address this issue and have you been successful? Has anyone challenged these local laws by attending town meetings and presenting the facts and impact they have on the vendors and the business locations?
  8. I considered these many months ago but id not see a distributor that sold them. Seemed like a good idea. I would still like to try them.
  9. We've ben vending the Pearson's Mint patties for almost a year now and have had good sales with them.
  10. Now that York repackaged their peppermint patties I was curious if anyone found a substitute candy for those old machines? We do the Pearson's Mints but we also installed one of our conversion kits to do the switch over. Just wondering how anyone else has handled it or did you just give up that part of the business?
  11. We bought a few of these about a year ago and also had problems with them jamming. I nevwe was able to determine what was causing it.
  12. That's good for a barber shop. We tried one once and did about $5 for 2 months and also had to pay a commission. We gave it a few months and removed it
  13. Try the "Natural Vegtable Cooking Spray" I believe the name brand is "Original Pam" cooking spray but there are generics. Be careful to buy the right one because there are variations to the spray. A thin coating on your Mike & Ikes or Hot Tamales will help with this problem. I found this tip years ago on a similar bulletin board. It is not foolproof but it does help. Spray the product lightly (just a few sprays) and mix them thoroughly in a container before placing them in a machine. Hope this helps you out.
  14. We always count each selection at the location, total everything, wrap the quarteres, make out a receipt and have the receiving individual sign showing they not only received their payment but also verified the count. This is especially important if you are paying an employee or manager and not the owner. (Just my opinion)
  15. We bought a couple 10 cent coin mechs from A&A about 2 years ago as an experiment. If you are serious about finding these coin mechs, check with A&A. They might still carry them.
