Painting a vending machine

I have an older, black snack machine in great working condition... it just has a lot of scratches on the left and right side (front looks great).

Is there an easy way to repaint this machine? If so, what type of paint? Brush or spray?

I just use semi-gloss black paint and roll it on.

I don't use gloss, it's too shiney and seems to show the minor dents more.  That's why I use semi-gloss.  I tried flat, but it just looks terrible.

Excellent suggestion! I used a semi-gloss, water based, paint that I had in the garage. Used a roller and even had my 7 y/o help me. It took no time at all and the result is fantastic.... The hardest part was cleaning the rollers.

The rollers are disposable - just throw them away.

Heavens no... I am Mr. Cheap... rollers are reusable in my world.

Have painted several. Sherwin Williams semi-gloss enamel. Gives the machine a thick coat that is scratch resistant and looks good.
