Blacksmith24
I am looking for a good source to buy some good refurbished vending machines. I am near Springfield, MO. Thanks
cvending
Shaffer Distributing does a good job on refurbing machines. They have a branch in Indianapolis. That might be closest to you. Otherwise, D&S or Vendors Exchange are both in Cleveland. Freight might be an issue
Vendo Mike
Mandina Dist is in Raytown, MO Greater America is in KC I think Eagle is still open in St Louis. Any of those should be able to help
Gizmo Vending
I’ve used vending world, southern equipment sales, D&S Vending, Vendors Exchange and American Vending Sales. Last one is local to me. There are many more out there too. Expect to spend several hundreds in shipping costs so it makes sense to buy several if you’re shipping. Also if shipping, you will need a business address to ship to. Last thing you want is a semi driving down a residential street running over Mrs. Jones flowers and knocking off Cooter Joe’s side mirror from his 85 dodge that hasn’t ran in decades. Call the companies that Mike referenced and see what they do for customers in your area.

Popular Post Gizmo Vending
Also keep in mind, once you buy your equipment you have got to go through it and make sure it works and everything is correct. No matter who you buy from they are going to say that the equipment is location ready. That may be but you have to check this stuff. In a different post you stated you wanted card readers as well. You’ll have to install those. THEN you’ll have to get them moved. With this being your 1st equipment purchase I would stay close to home, meet some people especially a moving guy. The easy part is buying machines. Who’s gonna help you move and warranty out parts if needed.

I can either stand them up on my trailer or lay them flat in my suburban. As far as maintenance goes, I should be able to replace parts myself with a little help from the wonderful people on this forum.
Popular Post Gizmo Vending
Unless you’ve moved these before I would suggest getting someone to move them for you. The snack machine is one thing but a stacked vendor can seriously do some damage and get you or someone else hurt. I’m not trying to discourage you but I know how heavy these things are. A stacked vendor when empty can weigh between 700 and 900 lbs.
Popular Post tblake05
Laying down any refrigerated machine is not a good idea. I have in a pinch. But then I leave them upright for a day or so before I plug them back in. Edited July 2, 2022 by tblake05
AngryChris
I have done vending for 16 years now. I'm 6'1, 215 lbs, reasonably fit since I do vending full time, and only 37 years young. You won't catch me loading/unloading machines in a suburban or anything else without a liftgate or equivalent equipment. No way!
Zachsea
Learn from the pros on your first few installs. Hire professional movers who do this type of thing for a living on your first couple installs. Take notes of tricks, tools and moving equipment they use along the way. The first install is exciting but can be nerve racking so start off on a wise professional foot.
Blacksmith24
Thanks for the advice everyone. I definitely want this first install to go well. Hopefully I can have the machines shipped to my first location, but if not I will be hiring professionals to move them for me.

Unless the location is a warehouse where you can get a freight truck backed up to a dock and the machine can be wheeled into place on a pallet jack you are still gonna need movers. Getting a machine to the locations parking lot is easy. Getting it inside to where it is going to be without breaking anything, yourself, the machine or your reputation is the tough part. Southeast Treats
Moving and placing machines is a learned skill, and a lot of "professional" movers don't have it. They may think it's as easy as a home refrigerator but it is not. Look for someone who moves vending equipment on a regular basis.

He has all the right equipment, especially for going up and down stairs.

Vendo Mike
That's funny. I don't see a Vendo on that list. I'm gonna have to give Billy some grief.
Gizmo Vending
Seems very reasonable. Good equipment that I use myself although I never had any USI/Wintern machines; I would with the AP machine.
tblake05
That USI is a solid machine, I like them and have a few. Keep in mind if it has the green board 9 times out of 10, it will need a firmware update or an updated blue board if you want to install a card reader. You can tell by the software version it flashes immediately upon turning it on. If it's past 8000 its good. Anything lower and it needs updating. Vendmaster79
I would suggest that you check with your customer to see if they approve of these machines. I like and have several of the live display type machines like the 501E, but some people think that style looks dated to them.
Snickers
Buy the AP snack. Come see me for a couple beverage machines. I have V720 and 501E have a few snack machines as wellto sell but not as nice as that AP. I'm less than 2 hours away from you so bring a trailer! Blacksmith24
So I got my machines installed at my first location this week. They are running good and it seems like everyone is enjoying the selections. I added a mystery Mnt Dew selection with 6 kinds of mnt dew and that is the biggest seller right now.
darkinthepark
Yeah...there are a lot of Mt. Dew flavors out right now and people like trying them.
